For those of you that were gifted this treat by me this holiday season, and those that just want to try something AWESOME, this is for you...
Winter Frost Mix
3 cups Quaker Life Cereal
3 cups Quaker Natural Granola
2 cups Rold Gold Classic Style Pretzel Sticks
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
16 oz. white chocolate
12 oz chocolate chips
1 ½ cups dried cranberries
Mix the cereals, pretzels and nuts in a large bowl.
Melt the white chocolate until smooth, which can be done in
microwave by stirring after 30 second intervals.
Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal mixture and toss until
coated.
Cool mixture by spreading on baking sheet lined with wax
paper or aluminum foil that has been sprayed lightly with cooking spray so
mixture won’t stick.
Once cooled, break up the mixture into smaller pieces and
place into bowl or storage container.
Toss with the chocolate chips and cranberries.
Store in an airtight container.
You can substitute the peanuts for another nut. I prefer
sliced almonds.
You can substitute the cranberries for another tart dried or
freeze-dried fruit such as cherries or blueberries.
You could also probably add different small candies like Reese's Pieces or M & M's.
